I'm starting to question Dad's credibility in argument.
Last night we were watching Inuyasha when he came in,and my sis accidentally pressed a button on the remote control,and voila!Chinese dub!
(Inuyasha sounds like a hobo in the dub.Thank goodness it was the ep where Sango repaired her Hiraikotsu.)
Dad said it was good in the Chinese dub.(HELLO EVERYONE!DUB = ARCHENEMY OF ANIME!)Then we changed it back to the Japanese version,and he got ANGRY.He said if we didn't watch it in the Chinese version we'd fail our Chinese,and besides,none of us took Japanese.(Anyway it's only that the voices are much better in Japanese.The subs remain the same.)
He stood in front of the TV while it was playing in Japanese and said that if we didn't watch Inuyasha in Chinese,we wouldn't watch at all.
I went down to watch on the pretext of getting a drink,and he came down after me and called me a disgrace to the race of the Chinese.(Now what's this all about?)(Chinese end-year is over dammit!If I fail it isn't through not listening to the dub.)(Might be post-WWII feelings,for all I know.)
I endured (for visuals) the pain of old people's voices sounding 20-ish,Inuyasha sounding drunk,Miroku sounding...satisfactory...and when I commented how Inuyasha sounded drunk,Dad started yelling about how if I wanted to complain like that I shouldn't watch at all.
Ah well.
Shaman King after that.
Thank goodness there's no dub for Shaman King.
